Liliana Meissonnier-Mizrahi

Liliana Meissonnier(-Mizrahi) was born in Mar del Plata, Argentina from an Italian mother and middle eastern Jewish father.  In 1982, she immigrated with her mother and two brothers to Israel and studied Biology and Zoology (BSc. MSc at the Hebrew university of Jerusalem).  Towards the end of a 6 months backpacking trip in South America she and Julien met at Iguacu falls (Argentina-Brazil) and merged their road by travelling together for a few weeks in Paraguay, Argentina and Chile. After living and working in France and Switzerland for 5 years while studying for a Ph.D. in Zoology at the University of Basel, Liliana returned with Julien to Israel.  Liliana dedicatedfull time to raise their 3 young children before going back to science and working for 12 years as a research biologist at Hadassah Hospital working on hereditary genetic eye diseases that lead to blindness.  A few years ago Liliana decided to leave academia and develop a way of life that focuses on the environment, fair trade and sustainability.  Her areas of focus are hydroponic vertical agriculture, bees and their lifecycle and developing internet based businesses around fair trade, outdoors sports, sustainability and the Mediterranean way of life. Liliana speaks Spanish, Hebrew, French, English and some Italian.
